My Other Blog is a Bicycle.

On my drive home today, I was passed by an old Toyota Celica with a bumper sticker that read, "I had lung cancer and I still smoke!" They obviously care a great deal about their health. I had no idea that there was a movement strong enough for a bumper sticker like that to be produced. Or maybe they special-ordered it. Either way, I'm baffled. Perhaps it's a cry for help?

I can't say I'm generally a big fan of bumper stickers. This is primarily due to the same reason I'm not a fan of t-shirts that say "I'm a princess! Deal with it!!," "Republicans have more money," or one I saw on someone the other day that said "My other shirt is updating its blog." That said, I do have two bumper stickers on my car, both small squares. One is a Bright Blue Dot sticker and the other is for Equality Alabama. I was recently asked what they meant, and I replied, "This one means I'm a dirty liberal, and this one means I'm a faggot." I was in a bit of a bad mood, the reason for which I won't explain here. Luckily the person I was talking to is like-minded. I really need to work on my filter.

The primary reason for my resurgent blogging (sorry Adam, it's not you) is my need to flex my writing muscle a bit, as I'm afraid it's begun to atrophy. I once wrote regularly, whether for the Hilltop News, class, or just for myself, but I've been out of academia for enough time, that I need to work my way back into it. I write profiles for work sometimes, but it's dry, and I can't really count it. This all became glaringly obvious to me when I had a harder time composing my statement of purpose than I anticipated.

I'm working on an epic post in response to some questions I've been asked recently about my atheism, but it's taking me awhile, so check back for it perhaps later tonight, perhaps sometime tomorrow.
